INDIGO SHINDIGO is a 5 hour long workshop where participants will learn hands-on Japanese shaped-resist dye techniques called Shibori with a natural indigo dye vat. These shaped resist forms including stitched, bound, and clamped: Nui, Kanoko, Kumo and Itajime. The patterns and shapes created using different shibori techniques are all beautiful and endless!
All participants will leave with a beautifully indigo-dyed organic cotton scarf or 3 bandanas and will learn about the alchemy and history of this magical natural plant dye. In learning these techniques, participants are encouraged to embrace the process over product. We will be creating in the Ukiyo (Floating) World.
