About the artists
Persi Flage | This funny guy has been kicking around Victoria for over 10 years, and has performed as far away as Melbourne, Australia. Former Mr. Gay Vancouver Island, in 2016 he co-founded Staches and Lashes Collective, a collective of drag artists who offer programming for and with kids and youth. Eddi Licious is a Métis Two Spirit drag king, dancer, shape shifter and performance artist who has been stomping around Canadian and international stages since 2005. They have performed in a wide variety of venues ranging from local community centres to large city arenas, captivating both in-person and online viewers. Eddi has dedicated much of their life to entertaining audiences of all kinds with their galvanizing energy, wit and chaotic charm and enjoys using art as a means of promoting acceptance of diversity. This artist was featured on Season 2 of CBC’s ‘Canada’s a Drag’ and is locally known as a trailblazer and inspiration to the queer performance art community. Image Credit: Eddi Licious. Bad Shah | He’s here to flirt with you, he’s here to dance with you, and he’s ready to give you the spice of Mumbai. This Bollywood lover brings all his Uniqueness and Queerkiness to every stage he graces. Through his work, he continues to amplify voices of marginalised communities while delivering unforgettable performances. Get ready to sweat because he’s bringing the heat with him! He’s the FIRST Bollywood Drag King of Canada, get ready for BAD SHAH!!! Image Credit: Bad Shah. Photo by Darla Woodley (detail), courtesy of the artist.
Vivian Vanderpuss has been charming audiences in Victoria and beyond for nearly ten years. Often sporting hair that has its own gravitational pull, you can see this campy queen coming from a mile away. Vivian captured the hearts of the nation when she appeared on Canada’s Drag race season 3 winning the title of Miss Congeniality. Through costume, wig craft and makeup Vivian transformers herself into a living art piece as she embodies larger than life characters.
