About the Artists Celia Cruz: One of the most popular Latin artists of the 20th century, Cruz rose to fame in 1950s Cuba before becoming an international superstar. Her powerful voice and "¡Azúcar!" catchphrase made her a symbol of Latin culture worldwide. Pablo Cárdenas: A virtuoso Cuban Jazz pianist and composer, Cárdenas is a graduate of the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana. Since moving to Canada in 2011, he has become a cornerstone of the Afro-Cuban music scene, collaborating with the Victoria Symphony and jazz legends like Dee Daniels. The West Coast Cuban Orchestra: Formed by Cárdenas to keep Cuban musical roots alive in North America, this orchestra blends traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms with modern jazz fusion and world music influences
