What
Karen Guilbault is a prolific artist who creates mixed media seascape paintings, as well as art objects made from natural fibers such as pine needles and felted wool.
SEA OF DREAMS features coastal landscapes in acrylic and oil, as well as a new mini-painting series of abstract landscape vignettes and bird paintings developed from splashes of abstract paint.
For fiber art lovers, the exhibition includes pine-needle baskets trimmed with felted wool, kelp and lichen, often centred with a stone or clamshell decorated with a painted bird or design. Karen will also show new felted wool wall pods for dried flowers, finished with pine-needle basketry trim.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Opening reception Thursday, July 16, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Public weekend events include outdoor painting for all ages and painting demos by the artist in the courtyard.
